Nursing
"Ann, you've given me great assistance & direction in breaking into
international nursing. The information that you sent me would have taken me years to navigate on my own. I can honestly say that this is one of the best
decisions I've made, and worth every penny."

Such
people are changing the world
Silper emailed her request for
services while she was working as a Roving Finance Officer with the
International Medical Corps in Sudan. When I asked her to email the disclaimer
she said, "OK to scan it to you rather than walk for 2 days to the post
office in Khartoum?" Silper went on to work in Afghanistan & Burundi.
She asked that we assist her to find jobs in Project & Program
Management. But most importantly, she asked "Please give me resources
that will help me help my home village." After reviewing her Lists,
Silper wrote back:
"You are an angel from Heaven."

Human Rights/Women's Rights--COVER LETTER OVERHAUL

"I have a lot to give"
In her cover letter, Teresa said "I
think in numbers. I have been an accountant all my life. I have worked
all over the world, for such bodies as the Banana Producers Network, a
subset of the World Bank. I am retired now but have a lot to give. I
don't need or want to be paid but I don't want to drain my retirement
fund and I want a bed. Is there such an arrangement?"
"I've been very impressed with the speed and effectiveness of your
response to my vague request. Your knowledge of voluntary services
made for meaningful discussions and a custom made plan of whom to
contact. It saved me a great deal of research, which might have been
hard to carry out successfully. I have begun to get positive responses
from the organizations that I contacted."

Service Sabbatical
“Ann took great efforts to understand my
needs and goals in taking a social service sabbatical to South
America. Consequently, the list of international organizations that
NGOabroad gave me was very tailored to my specific needs.
I got much
more than I could have gotten from the Internet: access to databases
and information that I was unaware of and a deeper perspective on
Latin America and the practical issues associated with traveling
there. Ann was very considerate of me, especially my busy schedule.
The fee that I paid is a small price to pay for such a valuable
service and for the many hours that Ann spent preparing the list.”

Fulbright Scholar's Research on Conflict Resolution
in the Ukraine
"NGOabroad was a real help to me during
my search for Ukrainian NGO's with whom to intern. After 3 months
of
searching and trying to make contact with various organizations, I wrote to
NGOabroad: " I am a graduate student studying Peace and
Conflict Resolution and would like to look at the role political apologies
play in rebuilding trust. Ukrainian President Yushchenko has
built his term around the idea that if you make a mistake - you acknowledge it
and move on. He has also made various apologies. In order to pursue this
research project, I must find an organization that is willing to host me. Can
you help?
Ann was able to
provide a detailed collection of NGO's that were in my interest
area. She not only provided their contact information - but also
detailed information about their activities and ideas about how I could
approach them to obtain their sponsorship. Her skilled research saved me at least a month
of frustrated searches and queries. Within a week of utilizing the list
that NGOabroad had provided me, I was dialoguing with 4 viable
organizations that I had been unable to contact before either because I
didn't know about them or because I didn't have the most recent
information. NGOabroad was a definite sanity saver in my search for an
internship in the Ukraine."
